Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of NIAC, the Mac and iPhone software published by Forlais Group Ltd, and this website.
1. Who we are
NIAC is published by Forlais Group Ltd, company number 16835488, registered office 45 Albemarle Street, Mayfair, London W1S 4JL, United Kingdom. In these terms, “Forlais”, “we” and “us” mean Forlais Group Ltd. “You” means the person using NIAC.
NIAC is a Forlais product. It is not EvaEsi and it is not a research experiment.
2. The product
NIAC is a continuation and security utility. It can hold a Mac out of idle sleep, attach to a job you started, show state on a paired iPhone, and ask the Mac to secure itself. It is intentionally narrow.
NIAC is not a remote desktop, a terminal streaming service, a replacement for device tracking, an endpoint management platform, a VPN, a remote shell, or a replacement for Find My, FileVault or macOS user authentication.
3. Agreement
By downloading, installing or using NIAC, or by using this website, you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the product.
If you buy NIAC from the Apple App Store or Mac App Store, Apple’s standard licensed application end user licence also applies. Where that licence and these terms conflict on a matter Apple requires, Apple’s terms govern that matter.
4. Licence
We grant you a personal licence to use NIAC on devices you own or control, for your own use. The licence is not exclusive and is not transferable. You may not rent, sublicense, reverse engineer or misrepresent the product, except where the law says you may.
The intended price is a single payment. There is no subscription and no advertising in the product. A store listing is not open until Forlais publishes one. Device allowance for a personal licence will be stated at the point of sale.
5. What NIAC does not promise
- It does not prevent forced sleep. Closing a Mac laptop lid is Apple’s rule unless a later, proven mode is unlocked on that Mac.
- It does not promise unlimited work inside a bag, theft prevention, exact distance, or uninterrupted background operation.
- It does not locate a missing Mac. Find My remains the Apple service for that.
- Phone Tether is approximate. Nearby, weak and away are last confirmed contact, not a guarantee.
- Remote Secure Mac only completes when the Mac acknowledges the request.
Travel Guard, the mode for a closed lid, stays locked until it has been proven on the Mac you own. Do not treat a closed bag as a validated workplace.
6. Safety
Use NIAC on a clear, ventilated surface. Thermal and battery policy can stop a session. If the Mac should sleep and does not, choose Stop NIAC. If that fails, restart the Mac. Enable FileVault and require a password after sleep.
You are responsible for the work you leave running and for the physical care of the machine.
7. Accounts and pairing
Some features need a paired iPhone, a NIAC username, or both. Keep those credentials and that phone under your control. We may lock or close an account that is abused or that we reasonably believe is compromised.
8. Acceptable use
You must not use NIAC to break the law, to interfere with other people’s devices, to attack the relay or this site, or to disguise malware as a NIAC session. You must not try to bypass safety limits, pairing, or a locked Travel Guard mode.
9. Support and changes
Support is described at niac.forlais.com/support. Write to operations@forlais.com. We may update the software and these terms. Continued use after a published change is acceptance of the new terms. The canonical address for these terms is https://niac.forlais.com/terms.
If a purchase is later opened, refunds are handled through the store that took the payment, or by Forlais support for that sale.
10. Liability
NIAC is provided with reasonable care. We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or without error, or that it will keep a particular job running in every thermal, battery, network or lid state.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any liability that UK law does not allow us to limit. Subject to that, we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of data, or indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability for any claim about NIAC is limited to the amount you paid us for NIAC in the twelve months before the claim, or £20 if you paid nothing.
If you use NIAC as a consumer in the United Kingdom, your statutory rights are not affected.
11. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that a consumer may also bring a claim in the courts of the place where they live if the law gives them that right.
